30 Things I've learned in 30 years

Image
I recently turned 30. The big kahuna, the three zero. I’m not sure yet how I feel about it. It’s a different feeling I will say that. I thought I’d try something to maybe get out of whatever this little funk is. So here goes. Thirty things I learned in my thirty years.

Finding time for yourself

As a busy mom I struggle finding time for myself. Between kids’ activities, working a full-time job, time for myself is hit and miss most days. By the time the kids are down for the night I am either to tired to do anything or I finish up on house work. Let’s face it, momming is hard and you don’t have many breaks. But the breaks you do get are sometime riddled with mom guilt, wife guilt, or house guilt. At least for me anyways.

“Diet” Update and Looking forward

Image
I am not a fan of the word “diet”. It’s been a struggle to get back on track, I try something it work then life gets crazy and I lose track of what I was doing. It’s life though. Since ending the Whole 30 challenge I’ve maintained, I haven’t gained anything but I also haven’t lost much of anything either.   So, here’s an update on what I’m doing now and what I’ll be doing in the future.

What I learned...Whole 30

Throughout my whole 30 experience I learned really what my body needed to fuel itself. I learned that even though it is way easy to stop at a fast food place for lunch I wouldn’t be fueling my body correctly. For me my reason behind trying the Whole30 was

Whole30

What is the Whole 30? Why I decided to try it.  Whole30 is an elimination detox. You are given a set of rules, for lack of a better word, on what you can and can’t eat. It helps determine what types of food don’t sit well with you or may be working against you.

How I deal with anxiety

I didn’t start noticing anxiety till about mid-twenties and until after I started having children, but I can recall certain things about my past and sure enough I had anxiety when I was younger. I don’t think what I have is bad, it doesn’t send me into panic attacks, but I do get butterflies, sweats, my mind will race, dry mouth, kind a feeling of “I’m going to throw up”.
